Wordpress convert- Unsuccessful

Never liked having to do any changes to my website. Once upon a time when I had plenty of free time and could afford not to study and do assignments or go to work (ahh... high school days), I would self-learn everything I was interested in, from making pretty avatars and signatures to blog templates. Lousy ones of course, because 1) I'm not neat and my code would always have some sort of error which I didn't bother fixing, and 2) because back then, what I was interested in was making things all flowery and cute, like putting background midi and floating stars.

(Must. Have. Food. Photos. to stop myself from blowing up in annoyance.)

To cut a long story short, I cannot access my blog from my phone. For some strange reason, I can access every other page on the net except for my blog, which comes up with a "cannot reach indicated server" error whenever I try to access it. I've tried other blogspot urls, I can get into them fine. Just not Eternal Darkness. So I thought, ok, everyone's been telling me to convert over to Wordpress. Let's try that.

(More food pictures. It's actually therapeutic looking at something you like when you're feeling even the slightest tinge of anger. And it's healthier than grabbing a random snack, like chocolates, but same effectiveness. Try it.)

... Is it just me, or does wordpress limit you so much that unless you pay, you can't do anything with it?? Reminds me of xanga... or maybe I'm just a noob at wordpress, but I cannot edit html unless I pay (and this is important for me! To be able to change, say, background opacity and column widths, stuff like that), cannot change font or font size (it uses something called "typekit" which is absolutely a waste of space- the fonts they have are atrocious. I was after something a little more normal and legible, like Ariel, which they didn't have), and my poor tagboard! Somehow I cannot get it incorporated as a widget.

(Proper food! I haven't had proper food in a longggg time before this bento.)

Needless to say, I gave up. At least blogspot doesn't limit the changing of html and I get my Ariel font and tagboard. I still don't understand why my phone cannot load the blog itself, but until I grow some patience, http://windf2joker.wordpress.com will remain cyber-garbage.

(On a side note, Sukari, you use wordpress. Any helpful hints? haha)

Sipping tea and cooling down the annoyance Wordpress caused. It's some "weight-loss" tea which someone gave my dad, as though he/she is implying something... I realise I don't really talk or see much of my family anymore, despite living under the same roof, but the most frequent questions my parents ask me are probably "what time are you going to work" and "what time are you back from work", whereas my most frequent question to my dad is "did you brew a new pot of tea?" and to my mum, "where did you put that *insert random item that has most likely ended up in North Pole*". Today, dad's new pot of tea is that weight loss tea. Doesn't taste half as bad as I thought it'd be.

On to food! More crocodile karaage. Last time, my sister posted a photo of a crocodile that she had at a restaurant:

She took this photo and had this dish in Singapore. I have yet to see a place that sells crocodile in a form like that here in Sydney. I guess it does look pretty gross to see it resembling what it really is, but the crocodile karaage we had was hidden under the facade of chicken karaage, so it was great. Nice chewy texture and crunchy batter. This was at Mizuya again. Have not been there in ages and it's improved quite a bit.

Their soft shell crab sushi roll, with crabstick, avocado, chili flakes and chili sauce. Loved it =) Came out freshly made and the crab was really prominent- could taste the "mustard", which is always great. We went there at a fairly quiet time, about 6pm right before the dinner rush, so all our food came really quickly, within 3-5 minutes, but then the place filled up really quickly.

From Weeks 40-43, 2010
Just for some meat, ordered a marbled beef dish. Nothing particularly special, and it's even more expensive than a whole roll of soft shell crab sushi. Might opt for another sushi or another ala carte dish in the future.

Dessert was a pleasant surprise. It didn't look that nice on the ordering screen, but we were debating whether to get another sushi roll or this trio dessert. Decided since we've had appetizers, main dishes/meat, we needed something sweet.

From Weeks 40-43, 2010
As opposed to coming really quickly after we ordered it, this dessert plate took quite a while. Wasn't sure if it was because the place was getting crowded and the kitchen was busy, but when it did arrive, it was no wonder the waiting time on it was so long. So many elements to prepare! That is their cheesecake, with a shot glass of apple sauce. Wasn't sure what the sauce was for actually- it was too sweet to eat alone, and didn't seem to go with the cheesecake. Hm.

At the back, green tea creme brulee with red beans.

This was great. Didn't know exactly what it was, but tt suggested mango jelly with vanilla sauce topped with diced strawberries. I thought it tasted more like lychee jelly with vanilla condensed milk and strawberries. Whatever it was, this was my favourite out of the plate. The jelly and strawberries just went so well together.

A grid of caramel/toffee? enclosing a scoop of cream.

=D It's been so long since I went out like that, and revisiting Mizuya was great. Standard hasn't gone down at all since our last visit- crocodile karaage remains as great as it used to be, and they've added much more stuff to the menu. Price? Hm... overall, those 4 dishes cost about $50 in total, slightly more.

Chef's Gallery while I was waiting for my bus home. It's been months and still going strong! Huge crowd... the longer we stood waiting for the bus, the larger the crowd festered.

Haha, a random present from tt, which "combines my love for cats and money" =_= hey wait, I don't love money ok.

I'm surprised people could be bothered to wait in such a long queue for Chef's Gallery.. I would imagine the owners of the previous restaurant are feeling rather dejected.

Photos of the sushi roll are making me hungry (coincidentally the theme ingredient for Iron Chef tonight was sushi as well =D)
